Elvira Shares Throwback Video From Long-Lost Theme Park Ride

With everyone quarantined due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, people are constantly in search of new content to keep themselves entertained. That includes horror host legend Elvira, who dug up some truly inspiring content from her past and shared it on social media.

Elvira took to her Instagram page to unveil a trippy video from a long-lost amusement park attraction that featured the Mistress of the Dark. “Since all the major theme parks are currently closed, I’m giving you the chance to go back in time and virtually experience ‘Elvira’s Tragic Kingdom!'” she wrote alongside the video. “Here’s my personal favorite ride … the house of SUPERSTITION! A motion-controlled 3D experience starring Yours Cruelly! Are you feeling lucky?”

Superstition was a 3D motion simulator ride that debuted back in 1997 and popped up sparingly throughout the early 2000s at a number of theme parks such as New Jersey’s Six Flags Great Adventure and Ohio’s Kings Island. The ride featured a lengthy taped intro featuring Elvira, along with her assistants Frankenstein, Dracula, and the Wolfman, pitching you on their upcoming “Tragic Kingdom” theme park. The ride then begins after Elvira transports you inside a simulation of the park, where you ride a virtual mine car through a haunted house, a creepy jungle, a ghost-filled graveyard, and what looks like Hell itself. It’s a pretty fun mix of ’90s entertainment and theme park thrills, and should offer a nice change to your quarantine routine. Check out the video below, and make it full-screen for maximum effect.
