‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’ New Character Posters Are Legit Works of Art

To mark the Chinese New Year, Godzilla: King of the Monsters has released a new character poster for each of the four main monsters of the film. But these aren’t your average character posters; they look more like something that should be hanging in a museum.

The idea of film posters as art is largely lost in modern movies, with most film posters today consisting simply of haphazardly photoshopped collages of actors and action set pieces, but that’s certainly not the case with these new Godzilla broadsides. The posters were shared by @OmegaGormaru on Twitter, and they are stunningly beautiful. First up is Rodan, presented here as a fire demon and looking considerably less threatening than in the film’s trailers.

Next is Mothra, who shows off both the adorableness and bioluminescence we’ve glimpsed in the trailers.

‘Monster Queen #Mothra; will both illuminate and shine with you, and from her bright wings gleam visions of grand plans that are in store for you. #YearOfThePig #Godzilla pic.twitter.com/Z9QkFton3j

Third is the golden King Ghidorah, looking decidedly regal as expected.

‘King Ghidorah; will bless upon you divine and extraordinary power to the equivalent of a being of three heads and six arms, gifting to you the possession of superhuman strength. #YearOfThePig #Godzilla pic.twitter.com/Qq7IVHay01

And last but certainly not least is Godzilla, looking all charged up and ready to roll.

And from #GODZILLA, he blesses you with the aiding power of his mighty atomic breath, gifting to you the power to find your ‘source’ and to be full of its energy each and every day. #YearOfThePig #GodzillaKingOfTheMonsters pic.twitter.com/ZbrLs7dhGN

These are some of the best looking movie posters we’ve seen in some time, and we’re really hoping Legendary decides to release them as prints. We’ve already got a spot on the wall picked out and everything!
