COMET has discovered the best way to ring in 2019, and that’s by traveling to the far off future of 1999… Space: 1999, that is.
The classic and revolutionary 1970s sci-fi series will be airing on COMET all day and night on New Year’s Eve, allowing you to bask in the show’s retro futuristic goodness while wondering if this will be the year humans finally set up a base on the moon — and a nuclear explosion subsequently causes the moon to become an interstellar spacecraft. You know, that old chestnut. The Space: 1999 marathon begins at 10am/9am C on December 31, and it doesn’t let up until well into the early morning hours of the new year, allowing you do bridge the two years with 17 hours of one of the most groundbreaking science-fiction TV shows of all time.
