You Need to Silently Watch the New Trailer for ‘A Quiet Place Part II’

2018’s A Quiet Place was one of the biggest — and quietest — horror movies in some time. So it’s no surprise that this year’s upcoming sequel is one of the most anticipated horror movies in some time. And the latest trailer suggests that the film will be worth the wait, even if it isn’t quite what fans are expecting.

The latest trailer for A Quiet Place Part II unveils some new details from the sequel, including a decent amount of scenes featuring Cillian Murphy’s new character, as well as a much more expansive view of the world compared to the first movie. The tone overall seems to be more action-packed than the original film, with the monsters also being featured more prominently. It’s also worth pointing out that this new trailer is louder than expected, playing more like a blockbuster action movie than the sequel to the quietest horror movie ever made. Check it out below.

We have to wonder if the change in tone is due to the specific way this trailer was cut, or if the movie really will have a considerably different feel than its predecessor. And if it is the latter, we wouldn’t be surprised. A Quiet Place made over $340 million on a budget of around $20 million, and its sequel likely received a much greater budget. If that is indeed the case, then the studio will expect the sequel to bring in an even bigger payday, which may mean the film takes on more blockbuster action movie hallmarks — and less of an indie horror movie feel. But that may not be a bad thing. Fans don’t really need to see a rehash of the first film in the sequel, so if Part II is able to do some fun and interesting new things in this unique world that’s been created, then more power to it.

A Quiet Place Part II arrives in theaters on March 20.
