This Trailer for Documentary ‘The Phenomenon’ Will Make You Believe in Aliens

Despite decades of UFO sightings, claims of alien contact, and allegations of government coverups, proof of extraterrestrial life remains frustratingly elusive. Or does it? In the trailer for the upcoming documentary The Phenomenon, director James Fox lays out the most compelling case yet that we are not alone in the universe — and you might just believe him.

The film is the result of 25 years of research on the part of Fox  —who previously helmed fellow UFO documentaries I Know What I Saw and Out of the Blue — and it includes never-before-seen footage of alleged UFOs and witnesses, as well as interviews with some seriously credible officials, like former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, former U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, and former White House Chief of Staff John Podesta.

“Twenty-five years into investigating unidentified aerial phenomena, I’m faced with the unavoidable fact they’re real, they’re global, and we’re potentially dealing with a form of consciousness that shares our world and impacts our lives in powerful ways,” Fox said in a statement, according to io9. “Our team has assembled the most compelling testimony and evidence from around the world that will lead even the most ardent skeptics to the inescapable conclusion that we are not alone.”

THE PHENOMENON is the first high-production documentary to assemble the pieces of the UFO puzzle into a startling, up-to-the-minute picture, peering into 70 years of history right up to fresh discoveries that challenge everything we think we know. It opens by proving there is a shocking “hidden history” that began in the late Forties and Fifties, when fleets of UFOs appeared in the skies over nearly every state in the U.S.,  culminating in a flyover of Washington D.C.  It uses never-before-seen archival footage and beautifully shot new interviews, deploying high-caliber journalism and edge-of-your-seat storytelling to take audiences on a  revelatory journey that leads them to an unsettling, unavoidable conclusion:  “We are not alone.”

Are aliens really out there, visiting Earth? Apparently we’ll find out when The Phenomenon lands in theaters this September.
