New ‘Zombieland: Double Tap’ Clip Reveals Rule #52

One of the more memorable aspects about the 2009 film Zombieland was lead character Columbus’ rules for surviving in Zombieland. Like Rule #1: Cardio, and Rule #4: Seatbelts. Even the title of the film’s sequel, Double Tap, comes from Rule #2, and refers to the act of shooting a zombie in the head again after you think you’ve killed it in order to make sure it’s actually dead. Now, a newly-released clip from the upcoming sequel shows that we’ll be learning of even more rules in the new film, including Rule #52.

The clip shows members of our returning gang of survivors — Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg), Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson), and Wichita (Emma Stone) — conversing with some of their new compatriots, played by Rosario Dawson, Luke Wilson, and Thomas Middleditch. As you’ll see from the clip, Wilson’s and Middleditch’s characters possess more than a passing resemblance to Tallahassee and Columbus, respectively. And when the new pair take on some zombie intruders, Columbus can’t help but note that they do so while ignoring the ever-important Rule #52.

The sequel takes place ten years after the original Zombieland and centers on a story that sees the group split up after spending a decade together. Along the way to reuniting, they meet a few other survivors, making the world of Zombieland feel bigger and more lived-in than ever before.

Zombieland: Double Tap shambles into theaters on Oct. 18.
