‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’ Deleted Scenes Are Coming

Godzilla: King of the Monsters has already stomped its way through theaters, but the film still has a few monstrous surprises on the way for Kaiju fans.

The movie’s home video release date has been announced, with a Blu-ray combo pack, 4K UHD combo pack, and special edition DVD all set to hit store shelves on Aug. 27. And along with the film itself, these home video releases will include a ton of special features. Here’s what’s included, via Bloody disgusting:

  • Commentary by Director
  • Deleted Scenes
  • Godzilla: Nature’s Fearsome Guardian
  • Queen of the Monsters
  • King Ghidorah: The Living Extinction Machine
  • Airborne God of Fire
  • Godzilla 2.0
  • Making Mothra
  • Creating Ghidorah
  • Rodan
  • The Yunnan Temple
  • Castle Bravo
  • The Antarctic Base
  • The Isla de Mara Volcano
  • The Undersea Lair
  • Millie Bobby Brown: Force of Nature
  • Monster Tech: Monarch Joins the Fight
  • Monsters Are Real
  • Welcome to the Monsterverse

Now, while that is certainly an impressive list of extra content, the entry that really jumps out at us is “deleted scenes.” Director Michael Dougherty previously revealed that there were “six to eight” full scenes that he had to cut from the film, meaning there’s a decent chance we could see some battles that didn’t make it into the final product. “They’re a fun watch,” Dougherty told Collider of the scenes. “I mean, listen, if we were doing Godzilla: The TV Series, they would be perfectly great scenes.”

While the idea an actual Godzilla TV series sounds ridiculously awesome, we’ll take what we can get in the form of these deleted scenes!
