Comic-Con ‘Picard’ Trailer Reveals Some Surprising Familiar Faces

The original teaser for Star Trek’s upcoming Picard series was, well, a little underwhelming. But the show’s new full-length trailer that premiered at Comic-Con is nothing of the sort, and if you were on the fence about the series before, you’ll be ready to engage after watching this new trailer.

The new trailer is far more action-packed than the original teaser (that doesn’t take much, but still), and we get to see lots of space action, Picard acting like Picard, and perhaps most excitingly, a few familiar faces. Picard’s old crewmate Data (Brent Spiner) from The Next Generation is back for the series (mysteriously), as is Star Trek: Voyager‘s Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan). The series’ Comic-Con panel also unveiled that three additional TNG cast members will be in the new series: William Riker (Jonathan Frakes), Deanna Troi (Marina Sirtis), and perhaps most surprisingly, Hugh the Borg (Jonathan Del Arco), who only appeared in three episodes of TNG. His inclusion, as well as Seven of Nine’s, indicate that the Borg figure to be a major factor in Picard.

As for the series’ plot? Well, beyond knowing that Picard puts together a crew and goes on a mission related to a mysterious young woman after she comes to him for help, not much is known. See what you can figure out from watching the trailer below.
