‘BSG’s Katee Sackhoff Returns to Space in New Series Trailer

The reboot run of Battlestar Galactica is considered one of the greatest sci-fi TV shows ever produced, and star Katee Sackhoff was a big reason why. Her complex portrayal of Kara Thrace on the series gained her awards and critical praise — not to mention a cult following of fans. Now, the actress is heading back to outer space in a brand new series, and we’ve already got a look at the first trailer.

The new series is called Another Life, and it features Sackhoff as Commander Niko Breckinridge, an astronaut who leads a team on a dangerous mission to space to investigate a possible alien threat after a mysterious extraterrestrial artifact shows up on Earth. Obviously, Sackhoff is playing a different character than Starbuck, so fans shouldn’t expect a Battlestar Galactica rehash. What they should expect, however, is an extremely intense, pulse-pounding, and thought-provoking series — at least according to the first trailer.

Starring alongside Sackhoff in the series are Hellboy alum Selma Blair and Supergirl‘s Superman, Tyler Hoechlin. The series basically looks like it could be a cross between Alien and Arrival, which definitely doesn’t sound like a bad thing. Whatever the series ends up resembling, we’re just glad for the opportunity to once again see Sackhoff back in outer space where she belongs!

Another Life premieres on Netflix on July 25.
