Insane ‘D-Railed’ Trailer Pits Derailed Train Survivors Against a Lake Monster

Some of the craziest movie ideas come out of the indie horror scene, but we’re not sure we’ve ever seen anything quite as wild as the upcoming D-Railed.

The movie is about a Murder Mystery themed-train ride that gets out of control, becoming subject to an actual murder and robbery. “OK, that doesn’t sound so nuts,” you’re thinking, but just wait. During the robbery, the train derails and crashes into a lake, trapping the passengers and robbers underwater. “OK, so the stakes are raised, but this still doesn’t sound like anything I haven’t seen before,” you say now in your jaded mind, but here comes the coup de grâce. Lurking in the lake is a bloodthirsty lake monster in the style of the Creature from the Black Lagoon on steroids, and it starts picking off the desperate passengers one by one. “OK, yes, that is insane,” you finally say. Glad you agree. Here’s the official synopsis, per Bloody Disgusting.

A woman boards a train that derails into a lake in the middle of the night. She, along with other surviving passengers find themselves trapped within the sinking wreckage. They discover what lies beneath the surface is far more terrifying as they fight to stay alive against a deadly predator determined to kill them one by one!

The film’s trailer does an excellent job of dialing up the insanity, as every second brings with it some new form of unexpected ridiculousness. There’s goofy costumes, campy overacting, and some legitimately horrifying creature design. Check it out below.

This crazy train will roll onto DVD and Digital on Aug. 6.
