Final ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’ Trailer Makes It Clear You Need to See This Movie

With just over a month to go before the film hits theaters, Godzilla: King of the Monsters has released its final trailer. And if you were somehow still on the fence about whether or not you wanted to see this movie, this latest look should remove all doubt.

The new trailer features more action than ever, with a number of previously unseen shots featuring what’s sure to be the movie’s top battle: Godzilla vs. Ghidorah. We also get plenty of looks at other fights, like Rodan vs. Ghidorah, Mothra vs. Rodan, and Mothra vs. Ghidorah (we admit Mothra looks just a bit overmatched in that one). We also learn more about the actual plot of the film, as the trailer states that the newly-risen Titans are all following one alpha: Ghidorah. In order to stop them from taking over the world, Ghidorah needs to be replaced with a new alpha, one who won’t lead the other Titans on a path of worldwide destruction. Enter Godzilla. Godzilla seems to be held captive by Monarch at the start of the film, until the decision is made to release him to take on Ghidorah, with humans joining him in the fight.

Besides Godzilla, it also appears that Mothra is on the side of humanity and not a part of this ravenous pack of titans. She is only seen battling other bad monsters in the trailer, never Godzilla or humans, and she also seems to be in the possession of Monarch at some points in the trailer. The new trailer also includes the reveal, previously seen in a recent TV spot for the film, that there are a total of 17(!) Titans in the film. See how many you can count in the trailer below.

With this being the final trailer for the film, we’re guessing you’ll be watching it on a loop until Godzilla: King of the Monsters arrives in theaters on May 31. We certainly will be.
