The premiere of Jordan Peele’s rebooted The Twilight Zone is fast approaching, and CBS has released a trio of new trailers that give us a more thorough look at just what we can expect from the new update to the classic series.
The first two trailers each highlight a different episode, effectively offering a preview of both. One is for the Adam Scott-starring “Nightmare at 30,000 Feet,” an update on the classic “Nightmare at 20,000 Feet,” which starred William Shatner. It’s unclear if in this new version there’s a monster on the wing of the plane like in the original, but it is clear that Scott’s character is absolutely terrified of something up there.
Next is a teaser for “The Comedian.” This one stars Kumail Nanjiani as a stand up comic (go figure) who seems to make a deal with a mysterious man (Tracy Morgan) to get everything he ever wanted, but then suffers unforeseen consequences. This one’s got some serious Monkey’s Paw/Faustian vibes going on, in classic Twilight Zone fashion.
Finally, there’s a new extended trailer that gives brief looks at a number of episodes in addition to the two above. There’s one episode with John Cho, who seems to fall under the spell of a child political leader (or cult leader) played by Jacob Tremblay. Another stars Sanaa Lathan as a woman apparently stuck in a time loop. And then there’s one with Ike Barinholtz acting like a deranged psychopath, all covered in blood. You can see all this, plus more mysterious clips and big stars, in the trailer below.
The Twilight Zone starts streaming April 1 on CBS All Access, with a two-part premiere of “Nightmare at 30,000 Feet” and “The Comedian.”
