New ‘King of the Monsters’ TV Spot Shows Ghidorah, Rodan, & Godzilla in Action

Godzilla: King of the Monsters has peeled back the curtain yet again on its monstrous clashes, this time in a brand new TV spot that features several different fights between the various Titans.

The new 30-second spot, fitting titled “Intimidation,” features mostly new footage from the film. It begins with a look at Godzilla trying (successfully) to intimidate his Monarch observers, who appear to be viewing him from some kind of underwater base. We’re then treated to loads of action, with Rodan attacking fighter jets, Ghidorah unleashing a blast of lightning, Rodan and Ghidorah going at it, Godzilla looming over the army menacingly, and Godzilla and Ghidorah throwing down. Honestly, there’s practically more action packed into this half-minute commercial than there is in the entirety of 2014’s Godzilla. Check it out below:

The only member of the big four who’s not featured heavily in the teaser is Mothra, but have no fear, the giant insect is expected to have a pretty central role in the film. Mothra apparently shares a mysterious connection with Millie Bobby Brown’s character, Madison Russell, in the film. That’s sure to come into play when Madison and her mother, Dr. Emma Russell, who invented a way to communicate with the Titans, are kidnapped by the monster-hunting Monarch corporation. Everything we’ve seen from Mothra so far implies she’ll be a peaceful creature in the film, but that doesn’t mean she won’t throw down with the rest of her Kaiju brethren.

And we’ll get to see all of these titanic battles when Godzilla: King of the Monsters stomps its way into theaters on May 31.
