First ‘Critters: A New Binge’ Trailer Shows the Crites Are Still Up to No Good

We’ve known for some time that iconic 80s horror franchise Critters will soon return in the form of a new television series, and now we’ve got our first peek at just what that’s going to look like. Spoiler alert: It looks a lot like the original Critters.

Streaming network Shudder, which is producing and airing the new series, has unveiled the first trailer for Critters: A New Binge, and it shows a level of gore we haven’t seen in decades. In the trailer, the alien Crites return to Earth after many years away, and they waste no time in picking up right where they left off. Countless people are mutilated and eaten by the toothy furballs in the trailer, and even some poor dogs end up getting mutilated, meaning this trailer is not for the faint of heart. Now that you’ve been forewarned, you can have a look below — but keep some Pepto Bismol handy.

As exciting as a new Critters series is, it may not be the only new Critters content heading our way. According to Bloody Disgusting, a new Critters film is also not only in the works, but has apparently already finished filming. The movie, which will be the first since 1992’s Critters 4, will be a Syfy original from the producers of the network’s Tremors sequels, according to the report. The report also mentions that original Critters star Dee Wallace may even appear in the film, though her involvement just an unconfirmed rumor for now.

To go from no Critters for nearly 30 years to suddenly having a new film and TV series is definitely good news for Critters fans — and bad news for any unfortunate souls who happen to run afoul of the Crites.
