Rodan & Ghidorah Face Off in New ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’ Teaser

Another fresh look at the upcoming Godzilla: King of the Monsters has arrived in the form of a new TV spot; one that showcases loads of action and a face-off we did not see coming.

Rumors have suggested, convincingly, that the movie would feature Godzilla and Mothra as the “good guys” fighting on the side of humanity, while Ghidorah and Rodan would be the “bad guys” looking to stamp out mankind. However, this new TV spot suggests the two bad guys might not be so chummy after all. In the spot, for a brief moment, Rodan and Ghidorah can clearly be seen hurtling toward one another in what can only be interpreted as a battle. This suggests one of two things. Either they are each looking out for number one and don’t discriminate in who they’re trying to destroy, whether it be humans Godzilla or each other, or, their fight occurs early in the film and they later end up joining forces for reasons yet unknown (maybe their mothers have the same name?).

In any case, the action displayed in the new spot looks insane, as we also get new footage of various monsters causing devastation as they emerge from their slumbers, as well as another look at that intense showdown between Godzilla and Ghidorah that was glimpsed in the previous trailer. You can check it out below.

As this new spot suggests, there can only be one king. You can find out who it is when Godzilla: King of the Monsters opens in theaters on May 31.
