It’s Predator vs Santa’s Reindeer in a New Stop Motion Animated Holiday Special

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer may have had to deal with some schoolyard bullies, but at least he was never stalked by the universe’s ultimate hunter. His reindeer colleagues aren’t so lucky, though, as they come into conflict with the Predator himself in a brand new holiday special.

The Predator Holiday Special is the latest installment in the time-honored tradition of stop motion animated Christmas TV specials, but unlike Rudolph or Santa Claus Is Coming to Town, it includes more gore and violence than Yukon Cornelius could shake a pick axe at. The special is a short, not a full-length television episode, and will air on Comedy Central during an episode of BoJack Horseman on December 19 at 10:30pm/9:30 CT — seemingly as a way to promote the release of The Predator on Blu-ray one day prior.

Not much is known about the plot of the surprise special other than what can be gleaned from the short trailer. In it, an elf named Sprinkles is chatting with reindeer Blitzen when the deer suddenly comes into the sight of a familiar tri-beam laser. Blitzen whips out a gatling gun and fires, but he’s not quick enough and is left with a massive hole blasted through his chest — much to Sprinkles’ horror. The whole thing looks pretty bonkers, but if this trailer is any indication, it could be a lot of fun, too.
