First Teaser Revealed from ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’

We’re still nearly a year away from the next installment in Warner Bros. and Legendary’s MonsterVerse, but we’ve already gotten our first teaser for Godzilla: King of the Monsters!

The film is a sequel to 2014’s Godzilla reboot, and a less-direct sequel to 2017’s Kong: Skull Island. The movie will serve as a bridge between those films and 2020’s big face-off Godzilla vs. Kong, but it’s no mere placeholder. The movie is going to feature a plethora of classic monsters, including Mothra, Rodan, and the baddest of them all, King Ghidorrah, all doing battle against the King of Kaiju himself.

Unfortunately, the new teaser doesn’t feature any of the previously-mentioned beasts. What it does feature is Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown as Madison Russell, who tries to reach the monster-researching organization Monarch over an old school radio (and with badly bandaged up hands). However, when she finally gets through to Monarch, all she hears is chaos on the other end as the organization is presumably caught up in a battle with some angry monsters. Check it out below.

In the film, Madison is the daughter of Vera Farmiga’s Dr. Emma Russell, a Monarch scientist who is kidnapped by another organization with aims on using her monster knowledge to bring the creatures under their own control. Monarch attempts a rescue mission, and that’s when all of the monsters join the party for an all-out battle.

A full trailer is likely on the way soon, so keep checking COMET’s The Signal in the coming weeks for that. Godzilla: King of the Monsters premieres in theaters on May 31, 2019.
