We love bonkers movies here at COMET, and they don’t come much crazier than the upcoming film The Man Who Killed Hitler and Then the Bigfoot, which has just unveiled its first poster.
The film stars icon Sam Elliot as a legendary WWII veteran who secretly assassinated Adolf Hitler during the war. Now, many years later, he’s tasked by the FBI and the Canadian government with killing another difficult target: Bigfoot. Yes, it sounds insane, and that’s what we love most about it. The movie marks the directorial debut for Robert D. Krzykowski, who also wrote the script, and features special effects by the legendary Douglas Trumbull, who famously was behind the visual effects for films like 2001: A Space Odyssey, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and Blade Runner. The film is also executive produced by John Sayles, who’s written a number of classic films including Piranha and The Howling. Joining Elliot in the cast are Aidan Turner (The Hobbit trilogy), Caitlin Fitzgerald (Masters of Sex), Ron Livingston (Office Space), and comedian Larry Miller.
The movie’s plot, with its inclusion of a historical figure and a legendary creature, is drawing comparisons to Bubba Ho-Tep — a COMET favorite about Elvis and his pal JFK (or a guy who thinks he’s JFK) teaming up to take down an evil mummy who invades their nursing home. As for this new film, plot details beyond the synopsis are scarce, but the first poster has just been released and it is absolutely incredible. Check it out below.
The Man Who Killed Hitler and Then the Bigfoot is scheduled to make its world premiere at Montreal’s Fantasia Film Festival, which takes place from July 12, 2018 – August 1, 2018. Hopefully it won’t take long after its premiere to find distribution so the rest of us can see just how awesome this thing turns out.
