The New Blade Runner 2049 Trailer All But Answers the Original Movie’s Big Question

The first trailer for Denis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner 2049 sold us on the fact that it may just be the best looking movie of the year, but this latest extended look at the October release does all that and a whole lot more.

Packed with new images of a dusty neon dystopia, better looks at key bad guys, and some interesting snippets of dialogue, this trailer gives sci-fi fans a lot to chew on. But, it might also provide an answer to a long-standing question from the Ridley Scott’s original Blade Runner movie.

First off, though, let’s talk imagery. There’s a lot more action layered into this trailer than with previous efforts, and it’s Jared Leto’s villain and henchmen who take a starring role. On top of those explosive additions, there are beautiful new looks at the movie’s iconic cityscapes, one of which even tells us that after all these years, Atari is still a major player in the gaming industry.

Once you’ve processed all that stunning imagery, your brain will inevitably turn to the fact that the conversations between Harrison Ford’s Deckard and Ryan Gosling’s Officer K are potentially huge for anybody who wants an official answer to the first movie’s big question.

So, is Deckard a replicant? Watch the trailer below and all will become seemingly clear….

Blade Runner 2049 is released in theaters on October 6th.
