John Carpenter Is Creating A Brand New Sci-Fi Comic Series

It’s been a long time since we’ve been treated to a new John Carpenter movie, and with the sci-fi horror legend insisting he’s staying away from the big screen, it’s unlikely that wait will ever end. But Carpenter isn’t completely retired, and this summer the master will return to doing what he does best: helping to create suspense-filled sci-fi and horror stories that will terrify and thrill us all.

On July 26th, the first issue of “John Carpenter’s Tales of Science Fiction” will hit comicbook stores, and we absolutely cannot wait.

Published by Storm King Comics, Tales of Science Fiction will see a number of multi-issue stories published in monthly installments. Seen above, Vault will be the first story in the series, and as the synopsis below suggests, it’s going to be a truly Carpenter-esque sci-fi fright fest.

When the moon-bound crew of Gaia stumbles across an enormous alien vessel, more technologically advanced than their own, priorities change. The mystery deepens when the crew discovers the name of the vessel along the hull.

Best of all, these comics are expected to be very much R-rated with warnings about extreme, bloody violence and a healthy dose of bad language…..We’re so ready for this!
