In this age of hype and bluster, it’s rare that a blockbuster movie delivers more than expected. But, that’s exactly what the Planet of the Apes prequel series has been doing as it quietly goes about its business, picking up an army of fans by providing mind-boggling special effects and compelling character-driven stories. War for the Planet of the Apes, the next installment in that series, is set for release this Summer and a new trailer shows us that even with all the big-name competition, this is one of the most exciting sci-fi movie prospects of the year.
Given the happenings of the original Planet of the Apes movie with Charlton Heston, it’s pretty clear who is going to win this war. Still, there’s a ton of emotion packed into this trailer, with Andy Serkis’s Caesar clearly playing the reluctant warlord. Woody Harrelson’s character, however, looks like he’s relishing every second of this battle, and we can’t wait to see more of him in action.
