This New ‘Ghost in the Shell’ Clip Is Totally Bonkers in the Best Way

This year is shaping up to be a big one for sci-fi and fantasy movies, with films like Logan and Kong: Skull Island already debuting to rave reviews and kicking off the summer box office season a couple months early. Next up is Ghost in the Shell, and a new extended clip shows that this movie is going to be absolutely insane in the best way possible.

The clip has everything one could possibly want in a movie like this: A futuristic, hologram-filled Tokyo; wall-crawling, life-sucking Geisha robots; weird biotech implants; machine gun-toting bad guys in suits; ’80s punk future fashion; and Scarlet Johansson kicking butt while invisible. It’s like Blade Runner, Terminator 2, and Big Trouble in Little China got together one wild night and ended up making a movie baby. You can check out the video below.

The film, which is based on a Japanese manga series of the same name, has drawn controversy both for its casting of a white actress in the lead role, and from fans who don’t think Hollywood will do the cult favorite property justice. But after seeing this crazy clip, I’m having a real hard time believing this movie is going to be anything but awesome.

Ghost in the Shell hits theaters on March 31.
