Bill Paxton, an actor known by many Sci-Fi fans for his brilliant portrayal of Private Hudson in Aliens, has passed away aged 61.
According to TMZ, Paxton reportedly suffered complications during heart surgery in Los Angeles. He is survived by his wife, Louise Newbury and their two children.
As well as his role in Aliens, Paxton has enriched countless Sci-Fi properties throughout his career. Most recently, the Texan played Master Sargeant Farrell alongside Tom Cruise in Edge of Tomorrow. Such was Paxton’s prominence in the genre, he’s one of the few actors who can claim to have been killed on-screen by an Alien, a Predator, and a Terminator.
Other memorable entertainment credits to Paxton’s name include Apollo 13 and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. At the time of his death, he had been working on CBS’s Training Day TV show. Later this year, Paxton will appear alongside Tom Hanks and Emma Watson in a major role in the adaptation of Dave Egger’s sci-fi novel, The Circle.
