With the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, many people are panicking as they try and figure out how they’re going to survive. Should you buy some toilet paper, or should you buy all of the toilet paper? Is 20 seconds of handwashing really enough, or is 20 minutes the safer option? Is it OK to only social distance yourself from those whom you don’t like? It’s all quite confusing, but thankfully, Shaun of the Dead stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are here to help you through these trying times.
In a video shared to the new YouTube channel of the pair’s production company, Stolen Picture, Pegg and Frost reprise their roles from the 2004 zombie comedy classic to come up with a “plan” for the coronavirus pandemic. Like in the scene of the film where the two hatch their plan for surviving the zombie apocalypse, Pegg ticks off the locations that the pair need to go to — his mum’s house, his ex-girlfriend Liz’s, and the pub The Winchester — but everything is different this time around since they actually can’t go anywhere due to the national stay-at-home guidelines in the UK.
The video includes several callbacks to bits from Shaun of the Dead, (including a clever take on an old joke that could be construed as homophobic) and ends with Pegg sipping on tea and winking into the camera after declaring that they should each stay in their respective homes and wait for this whole thing to blow over. It’s a great parody for these crazy times, and should add a little brightness to your time in quarantine. Check it out below.
