The Bat Signal is set to shine one more time, but instead of calling upon the Dark Knight, this time it will be signaling for his fans to gather and pay their respects.
L.A Mayor Eric Garcetti will illuminate the Southern Californian sky tonight, a fittingly Hollywood tribute for one of the town’s most beloved residents. Adam West, best known for his iconic turn as TV’s Batman, passed away last week after a battle with leukemia, prompting tributes to pour in from across Hollywood and pop culture fandom. Tonight, on Thursday 15th June, Eric Garcetti will be joined by LA’s police chief Charlie Beck in giving fans a chance to show up and pay their respects in person.
The event will be held at 9 p.m outside City Hall in Downtown L.A (full address: 200 N. Spring St., Los Angeles, CA 90012), and as per a release from DC Comics, fans are encouraged to come in costume.
Attending Bat-fans are invited to don their Bat-suits and trusty utility belts in honor of West’s signature role as the true crimefighter.
For those who aren’t able to make it to the event, you can donate to the Adam West Memorial Fund, which serves St. Jude’s Memorial Hospital.
