We know, we know. There’s not much that gets you excited about a sequel these days, but this is definitely news worth reporting. Jeff Goldblum, the man who can make any movie instantly more enjoyable, is returning to the Jurassic Park franchise for the upcoming sequel to Jurassic World.
Goldblum will return as the wise-ass mathematician, Dr. Ian Malcom, a character he played in Steven Spielberg’s original Jurassic Park movie and the 1997 follow-up, Jurassic Park: The Lost World.
When it was released back in 2015, Jurassic World trampled its box-office competition to take more than $1.6 billion worldwide, a figure bested only by Star Wars: The Force Awakens that year. But, while Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard were certainly charismatic enough to breathe new life into this sci-fi behemoth, many fans craved a few more nods back to the movie that started it all. With Dr. Ian Malcom returning to no doubt tell everybody where they went wrong with the Indominous Rex, it would seem that we can all breathe a little easier about the prospects of this upcoming sequel. And, what better way to celebrate Malcom’s return than with a 10-hour loop of his finest moment from Jurassic Park?
