When it comes to dangerous critters, Australia was already one of the scariest places in the world, but Cyclone Debbie might have just kicked the country’s fear factor to a whole new level. Seemingly not content with possessing a laundry list of deadly snakes and spiders, Australia might just have brought us as close as we’ll ever get to witnessing a real-life Sharknado.
Australia’s Northwestern coast has been battered by Cyclone Debbie this week. The storm has seen destructive winds and record rainfall bring chaos to the area, leaving thousands without power and many losing their homes. Thankfully, nobody has been seriously hurt by the storm, a fact which is made even more miraculous when you consider this tweet from Queensland Fire and Emergency Services….

Bull Sharks, widely regarded as one of the deadliest sharks in the world, frequent the shallow waters off of Queensland’s coast and have been known to have the odd run in with humans. This poor chap is, obviously, no longer a threat after washing up on a road some distance from the coast, but this is still a rather scary occurrence.
The logical explanation for the Shark’s landfall might be the 8m high waves that Cyclone Debbie caused, but we’ve never been big fans of logic. This is definitely a Sharknado– although technically it would be a Sharkclone– and we won’t hear any arguments that say otherwise.
