Like it or not, Stephen King’s It is making a return to your screens. Some 27 years after Tim Curry terrified audiences as Pennywise in the TV mini-series adaptation of King’s famous novel, a new big-screen adaptation is set to bring these terrors to a whole new generation.
The release of the movie’s first trailer is now just a matter of hours away, but why wait until then for a taste of what’s to come? A new series of images released by Warner Bros. reveals some of the story’s key elements, including Pennywise, The Losers Club, and the sheer bloody terror of being chased by a demon masquerading as an evil clown.
If you’re still skeptical about this new adaptation, it’s worth pointing out that Stephen King has seen it already….and he was full of praise for what he saw.
Andy Muschietti’s remake of IT (actually it’s Part 1–The Losers’ Club) succeeds beyond my expectations. Relax. Wait. And enjoy.

As anybody who has a familiarity with the It story will tell you, The Losers Club are an integral part of what unfolds. These photos represent our first good look at the club as a whole, and you might actually recognize one of the club’s members from another recent horror outing. There, in the gray T-shirt, is Finn Wolfhard, who spent much of 2016 being terrorized by another demonic being in Netflix’s excellent series, Stranger Things. Meanwhile, Bill Skarsgard has the unenviable job of following in Tim Curry’s footsteps as Pennywise.
Should this movie be successful, a second installment will– like King’s novel– catch-up with the terrorized Losers Club some 30 years after their encounter with Pennywise. Until then, sit back with the movie’s official trailer tease and poster, below. Don’t forget, the official trailer will be unveiled tomorrow.
