Everybody loves a good scary toy movie. Child’s Play, Demonic Toys, Toy Story (look, that scene where the mangled toys attack that Sid kid is pure nightmare fuel). These types of films are also, more often than not, an absurdly campy good time. And now we have a new one to look forward to in Evil Little Things, a low-budget scary toy movie that appears to be the perfect blend of horror and camp.
The film is a horror anthology film with a storyline ripped right out of the 1980s. It’s about a mysterious shopkeeper who regales a young boy with tales about some of his shop’s toys — and they’re not the types of toys you want to play with. There’s an evil leprechaun toy that stalks a family, a demonic doll that tortures its owner, and a clown doll that… well, it doesn’t matter what the clown doll does because clown dolls are inherently terrifying. Gremlins‘ Zach Galligan (a guy who knows a thing or two about shopkeeps with magical wares) and V/H/S actor Hannah Fierman both star in the film, which was written by Nancy Knight and directed by Matt Green. Check out the trailer below, which is chock-full of old school practical effects.
The murderous toys will come calling on May 12 when Evil Little Things arrives on digital and DVD.
