A ‘Godzilla’ Puppet Miniseries Has Hit the Internet

The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance isn’t the only puppet-centric new series you can stream online this month. There’s also Gojiban, a new web miniseries starring the one and only Godzilla in puppet form.

The new weekly series has debuted on Toho’s official Godzilla YouTube channel and is produced by Japanese puppet theater group Atelier Koganemushi, per Comicbook.com. The series stars a puppet version of Godzilla going on adventures with puppet versions of his two much-maligned children, Junior and Minilla. The first episode is up now, though it’s a bit hard to understand if you don’t speak Japanese. From what we can gather, Godzilla is attempting to teach the little monsters how to be a threatening Kaiju, and Minilla is pretty bad at it. At one point, he even farts while attempting to roar, knocking out his father and brother. That sentence alone should give you an idea of just how bonkers this series is, and you can check out the craziness of the first episode for yourself below.

The series’ artwork also includes references to Mothra, Hedorah, and Ultraman, meaning we can expect lots more Kaiju to cameo in upcoming episodes of the series. The purpose of the series is apparently to promote the Godzilla YouTube channel, and we have to say, mission accomplished. Godzilla and puppets… what more could anyone want from their entertainment?
