Bill Murray & Adam Driver Take Out Zombies in ‘The Dead Don’t Die’ Trailer

Look, we get it. You’re sick of zombie movies. Not only that, but you’re sick of zombie parody movies. The genre has been done to death, no pun intended, and it’s hard to get excited about yet another comedy about a zombie apocalypse. But you should make room for at least one more zomedy in your life, because the first trailer for The Dead Don’t Die is all kinds of awesome.

The film, from acclaimed auteur Jim Jarmusch, has an offbeat tone and comedic style that we have yet to see in other zombie comedy films like Shaun of the Dead or Zombieland. It’s almost like Wes Anderson and the Coen Brothers decided to get drunk together and make a zombie movie. And if you’re thinking that sounds awesome, you’d be correct. Not only does the tone look great, but the movie’s cast is both ridiculously stacked and unexpected. You’ve got megastars in Bill Murray and Adam Driver leading the way; critical darlings like Tilda Swinton, Steve Buscemi, and Chloë Sevigny; seemingly random musicians such as Selena Gomez, Iggy Pop, and Rza; and bona fide legends in Tom Waits, Rosie Perez, Danny Glover, and Carol Kane. As we said, that is some cast.

The first trailer quickly establishes the movie’s quirky vibe while simultaneously showing off its deep bench of talent, and we should expect nothing less from Jarmusch, whose résumé includes weirdo gems like the vampire flick Only Lovers Left Alive, surreal western Dead Man, and bizarro kung Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai.

Despite this being yet another zombie parody film, we’re pretty sure we’re going to have to see The Dead Don’t Die when it lumbers into theaters on June 14.
