Most fans of the paranormal are probably familiar with Skinwalker Ranch. The mysterious Utah property has been the home to a number of strange sightings and unexplained phenomena over the years, and now a new documentary is hoping to figure just what exactly is going on there.
For anyone unfamiliar, Skinwalker Ranch is the nickname given to the 500 acre Sherman Ranch near Ballard, Utah. The ranch is claimed to be the host of a number of strange goings on, most of which aren’t typically believed to be connected by their proponents. It’s been a hotspot for UFO sightings and all that goes with them, like cattle mutilations and crop circles, but that’s hardly where the weirdness stops. There have also been reports of ghosts, poltergeists, disembodied voices, skinwalkers, Bigfoot, pterodactyls, strange orbs of light, strange mists, interdimensional portals, and even a giant, bulletproof, disappearing wolf. It all sounds insane, but with so many people claiming to have witnessed so many strange things in the area, it seems the site should at least merit some further investigation. That’s where the documentary comes in.
Hunt for the Skinwalker is based on the nonfiction book of the same name by Colm A. Kelleher and George Knapp, and both chronicle the sightings at the ranch that were investigated by Las Vegas billionaire Robert Bigelow’s National Institute for Discovery Science. The movie claims to reveal never-before-seen footage of Bigelow’s study, which is said to be the largest paranormal investigation ever and was supposedly funded in part by the U.S. Department of Defense. In addition to the newly-uncovered footage, the doc also features loads of interviews with witnesses and experts, and it looks to be a must-see for any fans of the strange and unknown. Hunt for the Skinwalker will be available for purchase on digital download on Sept 11, and on streaming on-demand on Sept 19.
