We’re not going to lie, we’re pretty excited about the upcoming Tremors movie. Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell is the sixth installment in the franchise, and if there’s one thing we’ve come to appreciate about the series’ Michael Gross-led sequels, it’s their combination of fun and somewhat silly horror. And in a newly released clip from the new film, that combo is on full display.
The movie takes place in the Arctic, and marks the first time that Graboids are seen in a snowy climate. This makes for a nice change of scenery for the creatures, who previously had only been seen in the desert, and serves as a way to keep the franchise fresh. As for the plot, it once again revolves around Graboid hunter extraordinaire Burt Gummer (Gross), who travels to the Arctic with his son (Jamie Kennedy) to investigate reports of Graboid attacks. Once there, they discover that someone may be weaponizing Graboids, and after Burt is poisoned by one of the creatures, the countdown begins for him to come up with an antidote.
The new clip comes to us via Syfy Wire, and is an opening scene of the film. In it, some unlucky workers (who are dressed pretty lightly for the Arctic) run afoul of some subterranean ice worms, and unsurprisingly, it doesn’t end well for them.
Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell is set to be released on digital, Blu-ray, and DVD on May 1.
