Bruce Campbell Says Another ‘Evil Dead’ Movie Could Still Get Made

Ash vs. Evil Dead recently kicked off its third season on Starz, and the show has definitely earned a strong following since its debut in 2015. That being said, many fans of the franchise would still like to see another Evil Dead movie at some point, and star Bruce Campbell thinks it could happen.

According to Ash himself, the TV show’s fate is currently up in the air, and there’s a feeling that its third season could be its last. If that happens, it could be a blessing in disguise, as it may lead to Ash’s return to the silver screen in the near future. “We won’t know till the middle of March (if Ash vs. Evil Dead will get a fourth season). We’re in the horrible television limbo right now,” the actor told EW in a recent interview. “We’re going to see what the TV gods have in store for us. We’re ready either way. If they take us off the air, we can think about another movie. And if they don’t, we can just keep plugging away.”

It really sounds like no matter what happens with the TV series, the Evil Dead franchise will continue with Ash at the center of it. That’s certainly good news for longtime fans of the horror franchise, some of whom weren’t too keen on the 2013 soft reboot film Evil Dead, which served as both a continuation of the original trilogy and as a fresh start for the franchise with a new protagonist, Mia. However, Ash didn’t feature in the film, and only appeared in a post-credits scene. There were rumors that the new franchise would continue with Ash and Mia as co-protagonists, but those appear to have been shelved ever since Ash vs. Evil Dead came out. However, if the series ends up canceled in the next month, it sounds like we can expect the talk of more Evil Dead movies to ramp up once again. Huzzah!
