Vader light show

This Darth Vader Christmas Light Show Will Convert You to the Dark Side

The holiday season is all about spreading peace and joy, so it’s a bit surprising that the most impressive Christmas lights show we’ve ever seen is all about the Dark Side.

A man named Matt Johnson has built an incredible Star Wars-themed light show that’s all about Darth Vader, and synced it up to a remix of John Williams’ “The Imperial March” by Celldweller. The song features Vader’s line “You don’t know the power of the Dark Side” repeated musically over the iconic and ominous tune, along with Vader’s breaths added to the beat as well. As for the light show itself, there is some colorful holiday cheer courtesy of 15,000 lights mixed in with various Vader-centric projections from the original trilogy and a life-size, red lightsaber-wielding Vader standing atop a giant LED Christmas tree. It’s like the Griswold and Skywalker families decided to spend Christmas together.

Johnson has been at the holiday light and sound game for a while, and his projects have appeared on ABC’s The Great Christmas Light Fight. This Star Wars-themed performance was done in celebration of the release of The Last Jedi, and is located in Downtown San Antonio, Texas at Dignowity Park. If you’d like to check it out in person, the show will be running every night from 6pm to 10pm local time until New Years, according to Johnson’s YouTube page. And may the Dark Side of the Force be with you this holiday season.
