Few personalities in entertainment have a more distinct style than Elvira, and now you can cop her look for yourself because the Mistress of the Dark has just released her own line of clothing.
Cassandra Peterson, the actress behind the character, has teamed up with Pinup Girl Clothing to create “Elvira for Couture for Every Body.” If you’re picturing a collection full of tight low-cut black gowns, you’re right on the money, though some of the styles branch out a little further than what we’re used to seeing Elvira wear. Prices in the collection range from $78 for a hair piece to $248 for the priciest gown, meaning it’s not exactly cheap to dress like a horror icon.
Peterson — who turns 66 this year — has been portraying Elvira for over 35 years, most famously on her midnight movie-hosting TV show Elvira’s Movie Macabre, which aired originally throughout the 1980s and has seen a number of revivals since; most recently in 2014 as Hulu’s 13 Nights of Elvira. She’s also appeared in numerous other TV specials and series, comic books, and even films such as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark and Elvira’s Haunted Hills. And she shows no signs of slowing down either. In addition to her new clothing line, Elvira also makes an appearance in a new DLC for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and has a new series from Dynamite Comics on the way.
