Discover the Many Stephen King Easter Eggs Hidden in The Dark Tower Movie

We’re now just a couple of weeks away from the release of the first movie ever to dive into the world of Stephen King’s famed series, The Dark Tower. That in and of itself is enough to get King fans excited, but now Sony has revealed that seeing the first big-screen versions of The Gunslinger and The Man in Black isn’t where the excitement ends for those heading to see the movie next month.

You might recall that when The Dark Tower‘s first trailer was released, we were thrilled to see multiple Easter eggs paying tribute to other famous Stephen King stories. Now, Sony has released a new video that tells us those references to the likes of It and The Shining were just the start. The teaser features a ton of references all packed into the space of just 30 seconds, but we’ll let you see how many you can spot before we highlight some of our favorites….

Packed into that 30 seconds were references to Cujo, The Shining, Christine, and Misery, and it got me to thinking how brilliant a Stephen King cinematic universe would be. With The Dark Tower and It, both scheduled for release before the year is out, it could just be that this is the start of big things for fans of classic horror and fantasy…

The Dark Tower is released in theaters on August 5th.
