They’ve been wowing us with the brilliant minds of Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson for the last few years, but now the team behind BBC’s hit show Sherlock are turning their attentions to another legendary figure of fiction: Dracula.
According to Variety, Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat will write a new adaptation of the famous Bram Stoker tale, with the BBC expected to pick up the broadcast rights in the UK – overseas distributors have not yet been confirmed.
It’s thought that the new Dracula series will replicate the model Sherlock has been known for, featuring longer feature-length episodes in a mini-series format.
So, who would be your pick to play the titular bloodsucker in the new show? Would you like to see the show replicate Sherlock by bringing the famed 19th-century character into a 21st-century setting, or is a traditional gothic approach more your kind of style?
