The Stars Of WWE Are In A Movie With The Jetsons, And We Have No Idea Why

The Jetsons are a beloved, cartoony piece of our sci-fi childhoods, a first baby step on our journeys to fully-fledged geekhood, if you will. Similarly, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) holds a great deal of nostalgia for many folks out there, and many who watched the ‘sport’ in its early days continue to watch it in its modern form with their children. But, even though these two properties both hold a lot of nostalgia for a similar audience, we never would have expected to see The Jetsons and WWE join forces. The release of a surprising new movie, however, tells us that’s exactly what has happened.

This almost unthinkable idea for a movie comes from the minds of Warner Bros. Animation, and the plot is exactly as hairbrained as you would expect.

A snowstorm freezes Big Show solid for decades. When he finally thaws out, Elroy and George help him build wrestle bots. When Big Show uses them to take over the city, the Jetsons go back in time to enlist help from the WWE Superstars.

Who remembers the days when the craziest Jetsons team-up idea was to have them meet The Flintstones?

Of course, we shouldn’t be too surprised this has happened. It’s an excellent way for WWE to reach more of their target demographic, but this still feels odd, even to someone like myself who grew up reading some an array of weird comicbook team-ups ranging from Batman and The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, to X-Men and Star Trek.
